I participated in this Toxin Freedom Fighter campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Seventh Generation. I received a promotional item and product samples as a thank you for participating.
Since becoming a parent, I have become much more aware of what is in our environment. Starting when I first became pregnant with the Captain, I actually began to read labels more carefully and consider what we used in our house. Education is key to parents providing the best environment and making the best choices that they feel are best for their kids. Hubby and I have tried to make educated choices based on the research we have done. For the past few years, we have been using Seventh Generation products to eliminate toxins from our home to make it safer for our sons. I trust Seventh Generation because for 25 years, they have delivered plant derived products using bio-based ingredients. Plus, their products work. I don't see the sense in using products that have harmful toxins when you can find great products that are actually safe for your family.
Did you know that since 1976, when the Toxic Substances Control Act was passed, 80,000 synthetic chemicals have been introduced into the market, and the EPA has required testing of only less than 10%? That is ridiculous and pathetic. I am 32 years old and the Toxic Substances Control Act is 38 years old and needs serious reevaluation from Congress. It's time. Do you want untested toxins in your home? I don't, for sure.
Scientists have linked exposure to toxic chemicals to numerous health risks, such as cancer, Alzheimer's, asthma, learning disabilities. birth defects, and various reproductive problems. Yet *most* companies turn a blind eye to this information and do nothing to try to help the health of Americans. Seventh Generation is trying to change this with their Toxin Freedom Fighters Campaign. By collecting at least 100,000 signatures, the Toxin Freedom Fighters will deliver them to Congress and strengthen the movement behind chemical reform. With this, the goal is for decision makers to change the necessary laws to protect our kids. The TSCA is failing to protect our health.
Will you become a Toxin Freedom Fighter and add your signature to protect the health of your family and America?
