Disclosure: I received this DayDreamer inclined infant chair as part of an advertorial.

I love to hold Baby Brother and of course, he loves to sleep in our arms.  I am, however, also the mother of two other boys who need my help a lot, and a wife, and also a cook, dishwasher, launderer, blogger, etc, etc.  As much as I wish I could just hold Baby Brother all day without having to put him down, sometimes I just have to.  He is a pretty easy going baby, but he doesn't always like to be put down.  If he's awake, he wants to see what's going on.  If he's asleep, he doesn't like to be laid down flat on his back.  The DayDreamer infant lounge chair has been such a help to me because it's there when we need it and it's perfect for Baby Brother to just chill in.

Some other great aspects of the DayDreamer include:

  • ventilated core and moisture wicking fabrics keep baby cool
  • inclined design is good for babies with reflux, colds, and fussy babies
  • toys and teethers stay clean because they are more likely to fall in the chair than on the floor
  • ultra-stable base rests securely on the ground
  • one-hand-release safety harness
  • available in powder blue, carnation pink, or sage green
  • removable cover is machine washable
  • easy to transport
  • waterproof seating area
  • lifetime guarantee with registration

When we first started using the DayDreamer, I was a little frustrated because he would wake up the minute I put him in.  He has gotten more used to it, though, and he will take a short little cat nap in it.  We mostly use it for lounging, though.  If I need to run to the bathroom to help one of the boys, Baby Brother will happily relax in the DayDreamer and I can feel confident that he is safe in it.

Other uses for the DayDreamer, though not encouraged by the company, of course are:

Lounging and napping for older brothers:

While DexBaby warns against babies who can roll, scoot, or crawl using the DayDreamer and recommends only babies ages 0-5 months be allowed to use it, the Captain and D absolutely LOVE the DayDreamer and if Baby Brother isn't in it, you can bet one of the boys is!

And it's also great for photos!  I love the DayDreamer for getting great shots of Baby Brother, like this adorable pic from after church one Sunday:

The DayDreamer retails for $129 and can be purchased at Babies R Us and other baby stores. Visit the DayDreamer website for more information.

How I wish I had this when mine were babies. I had issues like this and have to do somethig with baby safe while attending to the other kids and they cannot be held every moment. Love this!

  2. Allison Villarreal says:

He is soo cute! i love how newborn boys look like grumpy old men. Mine is 2 1/2 weeks old and I could really use the seat like the Daydreamer. in fact I am adding it to my baby registry right now! I too was looking for a product that i could use while I run to the bathroom and have the piece of mind that the baby will be ok. I love how the design will also easily catch his pacifier then having it fall on the floor. I also love that it has a removable machine washable cover and that its made out of moisture wicking fabrics.

  3. Great reiew.  There are so many wonderful things about this product.  I used to be the director of a daycare and I know parents would love this.  It sounds so easy to transport and I love that it inclines and has a one hand release safety feature.

  4. This seat looks awesome! We had a very similar one with my son that was recalled and I'm actually made I threw it away before it was recalled. I really should've kept it!

Would love to have a new one.

  5. Danielle Porter says:

I love that you can use this for a while! And that it's waterproof in the seating area! Great for easier clean up!

  6. Gina Hiskes says:

Oh my word! Where was this for baby #2?! She slept in a swing for the first 8 months of her life until she finally had spinal surgery to correct a problem. She would have loved this. Perfect for a baby with reflux!

  7. Sarah Marshall says:

I hadn't seen these before! I love the design!  It looks comfortable and safe for babies!

  8. This looks so much more comfortable than those metal ones I see all over the place, and looks like you can use them for much longer too.

  9. kortney Picker says:

This daydreamer looks extremely comfortable!  This would be so great to put baby in while doing dishes or running after my toddler :)

  10. Shelbie Johnston says:

PERFECT for my new Grandson, thank you! Awesome review!

  11. Stephanie Phelps says:

This is so much more stable to sit any where than my old one and more comfy! I also have a child that hates to be laid flat and has reflux this would be wonderful for him!

  12. I love that is so stable looking. A lot of infant seats look so unstable!

  13. I would have loved to have had this with my daughter! She liked to be sitting up and watching when she was young, and I think she probably would have loved to nap in it as well. I'll be having my second child this year and this would be perfect to keep my little one safe while I do dishes, get sibling dressed, etc.

  14. Terry Madden says:

I like that it has high sides so baby can't roll out and it is Sturdy. And it is awesome that it is waterproof.

  15. I really like this idea! It's great that they offer a lifetime gaurentee - PLUS! I also really like that it's designed on an incline that helps with acid reflux and colds. I also really like the one hand release- need!

  16. It looks quite interesting and I quite like this blog.

  19. How nice and so much better than that hard plastic car seat.

  20. Bertha Wilson says:

Sure would have been nice to have had this when my babies were little (1970's). I have 12 Grandchildren now! Great for children with reflux problems.Sure looks comfortable!

  21. Beaynbopp says:

I wish that I would have had one of these when our little guy was born. He had really bad reflux. We did find a product called Colic Calm that helped quite a bit but we still ended up holding him up during naps and all because of him waking up with the reflux. I will def look into this when/if we have another.

  22. I love that it's ventilated and it wicks the moisture away from the baby. I wouldn't want mildew or mold to grow on something I put my baby in/on. I will admit, when it comes to positioners, "Boppy" is all I ever hear. I like this much better!

  23. I absolutelty love this idea. It looks so relaxing, that I wish I had one for myself! This would be great for naps, and just relaxing time!

  24. It looks so comfortable! This would be perfect for my little grandson…cute pics!

  25. This would have been great for my daughter but we'd get a lot of use for it for our 2 month old son! Sometimes he just wants to be near and watch his sister and this looks easier to maneuver than the bouncy seat.

  26. molli vandehey says:

this is so timely. i was just looking for a nice infant seat that doesnt have so many button and stuff… this looks comfy and supportive. love it!

  27. Cassandra Eastman says:

Aww, this looks like such a neat infant chair! Loved the pictures. My son had horrible reflux and slept terrible due to that. I'm hoping our next won't but this would definitely help and it'd be a great place for them to nap! It'd be awesome to take when we travel as well!

  28. courtney b says:

if i was a baby i would totally want this!:) super comfy!

  29. This looks like a great infant chair. We are looking to buy an inclined napper since our newborn prefers to sleep upright a little bit and hates her bassinet.

  30. Amelia Drew says:

I love that kids up to 30 lbs can fit in it- so great!
