Do you know one of my worst enemies?  The ice cream truck that comes chugging along through our neighborhood at the most random times.  You can hear it from a mile away…that enticing little song that lures kids in to pay high prices for frozen JUNK!  We avoid the ice cream truck and it was hard, for awhile, to teach the boys that we just didn't buy from the ice cream man, but now they realize that it is expensive and we just don't eat what he is selling because the treats are not healthy for us.  You might be thinking…ice cream truck?  In April?  But, we are in Texas and the ice cream man has been known to come down our street in the pouring rain….in December.  He comes by all year and we eventually had to stop hiding from him and just educate our kids about healthy treats.

The problem is, most of the popsicles and frozen bars in the stores are full of junk, too.  So when I learned about Chunks O' Fruti 100% Natural Fruit Bars, I was ecstatic!  These yummy fruit bars are sold at Sam's Club and don't contain high fructose corn syrup.  They also contain REAL fruit and fruit is always the first ingredient, meaning the fruit bars contain more fruit than any other ingredient.  There are no artificial colorings or flavorings and most flavors are GMO free.  This is a fantastic treat to let the kids enjoy!

The box of Chunks O' Fruti contained four seperate boxes, which makes it super easy to find exactly the flavor that you're looking for, without digging through the whole box.  I love this!  The flavors in the box were Strawberry, Pina Colada, Strawberry Cream, and Caribbean Mix.  I decided to try Pina Colada first and it was delicious!

Baby D wanted to try the Strawberry Cream:

Yes, we eat our popsicles on plates here!  It helps cut down on the mess!  He absolutely LOVED the fruit bar, which he calls "poppicles."  He has a hard time finishing one, but Daddy or I are usually happy to help him out.

The Captain didn't want his picture taken, but he tried the plain Strawberry first and he was completely satisfied.  He is the frozen treat expert, so I was concerned that he wouldn't like it, but he did.  His favorites are definitely the Strawberry and Caribbean, which is a blend of coconut, passion fruit, pineapple, and mango.

I am so happy that we have a great alternative and the huge box, which was under $10 at Sam's Club, will last us a few weeks.  Well….maybe….this kid really does like his new "poppicles."

Chunks O' Fruti would be a great treat at a birthday party, pool party, or just a nice hot weather reward after a long school year, test, or … any occasion, really!

Make sure and drop by Sam's Club on May 13th for a Chunks O' Fruit and yogurt demo.  YUM!
