I’m sure you’re feeling the stress from the hustle and bustle of the season, right? There are parties to attend, plays and performances to watch, gifts to buy, and more. It’s hard to slow down this time of year, but it is important to make time for family meals where you can actually slow down, relax, and enjoy each other’s company.
I love getting together with family and friends during the holidays, but to be honest, I’m not too big into having people over when I’m so busy because of the food prep and dishes to clean up. Last night we were able to take a break from everything and celebrate Baby D’s birthday at a restaurant. It was nice to sit down, be able to talk to each other, and not have to stress out with cooking or cleaning up. The boys know that eating out in a restaurant is special and they love being able to order and eat different foods that we don’t usually eat. The Captain LOVES having the option of eating something that Mommy & Daddy aren’t eating, too!
I remember last year, friends of ours gave us a gift card to a restaurant. What a sweet gift that allowed us to take a break from the holiday hubbub and sit down and enjoy each other’s company! I love the idea of giving restaurant gift cards for the holidays.
Our family has had a few great meals at Red Lobster. Hubby and I went there recently (without kids!) and enjoyed their delicious food and great atmosphere.
We have never been to a LongHorn Steakhouse because there isn’t one in our area, but I hear that the food here is delicious, as well! If you have a restaurant nearby or a steak lover in your life, a gift card to LongHorn Steakhouse would make an appreciated gift!
All of these great places are Darden restaurants and the beauty of that is, if you buy a Darden gift card, it can be used at any of these fine restaurants, so your recipient has a choice!
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Darden. I received a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.
