gift ideas

Toys are everywhere this time of year.  I’m already tired of seeing the latest action figure and doll commercials, and we’re not even in to December yet!  My boys love toys that are new, exciting, and are more than your everyday toy you can find at the local store.  That’s where HearthSong comes in!  HearthSong has “toys you’ll feel good about giving.”  It’s true, HearthSong has fun, unique, meaningful toys for every child on your Christmas list.

HearthSong’s website is very easy to navigate to find the perfect gift.  And it’s not just toys…they have costumes, clothes, decor, and more.  You can shop by age or interest.  For instance, the Captain LOVES music, so I searched for “music” toys and came up with a huge number of musical intstruments and fun musical items.  He has a love for marching bands and has asked for a trumpet since LAST Christmas, so we got him a Bontempi trumpet for kids from HearthSong for his birthday.  He absolutely loves it and was beyond thrilled that he got what he wanted.

The trumpet has four keys and a guide on the back of the box for how to play certain songs and notes.  He and Baby D both love to “play” it and pretend they’re in the band.  Soon he should be able to really start playing it, but for now, this is the fun and pretending he loves.

The trumpet looks real, but it is made of plastic.  I was worried about the durability of the trumpet but the boys have played with it a LOT in the past few weeks and it’s still as good as new.  It should last awhile in this house.  For less than $20, I’d call that a great deal!
