I first learned about Magic Bumpers on another blog review, and I immediately thought of all the ways our family could use them, so getting to review Magic Bumpers was a very special treat!  We were sent two 24" Magic Bumpers:

They arrived JUST in time!  We picked them up at the Post Office on the way to my parents' house for the week.  Travelling with kids has always been a little stressful for me.  Do you know those kids who will go to sleep ANYWHERE and then sleep through the night as if they're in their own bed?  My kids have NEVER been like that.  EVER.  In fact, I think it's very fair to say that I avoid going places that we have to stay overnight with the boys because they do not adapt well to change.  But, Daddy was gone for a week to church camp and we wanted to visit our family, so I was willing to put up with the lack of sleep.  Baby D doesn't sleep well in the Pack N Play anymore, so I was prepared to share a queen sized bed with him…..but then the Magic Bumpers came in the mail and changed our whole week!  When we got to my parents' house, I installed them under the sheets.  (The sheets were in a drawer.  Mom, please don't be mortified that I posted this picture of the wrinkled sheets!  :)

Magic Bumpers are PERFECT for the co-sleeping family or if siblings have to share a bed.  Maybe you have slept in the same bed with a cuddler…or just a kid that inches himself over to you through the night and by 5 AM, you're sleeping on your side, about to fall off the edge of the bed.  Well, the Magic Bumpers kept Baby D safe on his side of the bed, OFF of me, and he felt secure enough to sleep all night long, every night we were there!

I was well rested and didn't have to worry about him falling off of the bed if I couldn't stay in bed with him while he napped or slept at night.  The Magic Bumpers were such a great travel item!  They're made of foam, so they're super light and easy to transport.  And since there is no "hardware," you just slip them under the sheet, they're so easy to install, too!  Just place them where ever you like, the options are endless!

Magic Bumpers are very versatile.  They can be used from infancy to kids who weigh 100 lbs.  They can be used for co-sleeping, a guard rail, and a bed divider, like we did!  Magic Bumpers aren't recommended for crawling infants, as they are fairly easy to crawl over.  If Baby D were awake, he could easily crawl over the Magic Bumpers, but (wouldn't you know it?), Captain Fussybuckets' twin sized bed was pushed right up next to mine, so I wasn't concerned with Baby D crawling off of the bed.  (You do have to be careful not to use Magic Bumpers if your child can crawl and not yet climb off of the bed.)

Magic Bumpers are sold in 2s, 3s, and 4s, and they even sell a bag to carry them all in.  A two pack of Magic Bumpers sells for only $16.99 and can be purchased at Magic Bumpers or Amazon.

Comments

  1. I would use these when we travel so the kids could share a bed!  One of them is very kicky.  :)

  2. My kids love to sleep together in the same room, but fight when someone crosses "the line"! This would be perfect to stop those fights!

  3. Elizabeth Wisniewski says:

I would use them to keep my 2.5 year old in his part of our bed. He crawls in with us everynight and he is a bit of a flailer. This might get Dada and I a bit more sleep.

  4. How I wished I would have had something like this for those YEARS of co-sleeping and getting kicked or worried that little one would tumble off. Super great idea!! I would hold on to them in case we add to our crew :)

  5. I like that there is no assembly requried.

  6. I would use the bumpers both for my toddler looking to move into his toddler bed and for the baby on the way with co-sleeping. Very cool.

  7. Amanda Alvarado says:

I like that they are made in the USA and are portable!

  8. Felicia R says:

I would use them for then we move our LO to her own big girl bed to help keep her from fallnig out!

  9. Aline Grigorian says:

We are about to move our toddler into a big bed and these would be perfect to keep her from rolling out the end!

  10. Sarah Hull says:

I would use them for baby #2 that is on the way! It would be so nice to use these and not have to worry about the baby falling out of bed in-between nursing and sleeping at night!

  11. christine jessamine says:

i would use this for my daughter when she switches to a toddler bed around the edges!

  12. Patricia Williams says:

I would use these for my grandson. He stays overnight 2 or 3days a week. I might actually get some sleep these nights since he has to sleep with me. I would have more than an inch of room to sleep in.

  13. Laura Jacobson says:

I learned that they are Made of fire-retardant polyurethane upholstery foam !  Carter is about to go from his Crib…to remove the front and a crib/toddler bed.  This would be so perfect to keep him from falling out.  We have been hesitant to take the front off, but he is so close to climbing out and we are afraid he will get hurt.  So……been really torn on what to do.  This would be great!

  14. These would be great for when you transition from crib to toddler bed.

  15. I love the safety it will provide my little princess!

  16. I'd use it for my twins in their big bed.

  17. I babysit my grandson who is 6 months old so I really need him to not fall off the bed during nap time.

  18. Kristin Sawatzke says:

I would use it for my sons bed!
