Wholly Guacamole & Salsa

logo

We absolutely LOVE salsa in our house.  Daddy loves the hot stuff, I like the mild-medium salsas, and the Captain likes the extremely mild (aka not spicy at all) salsa!  So we were so excited to try out the delicious Wholly Salsas, Guacamole, and Avocado.

We love pineapple, so I decided to open the pineapple salsa first.  It wasn't hot to me, at all, which I was suprised about.  I think my preference would be a spoonful of pineapple [...]

Favorite Toys

When I was little, I spent a lot of time playing with my favorite toy, the Fisher Price doll house.  I loved that thing.  There's just something about those little figurines with round heads and the ability to put them in the little chairs, lay them on the little beds, and even push them around in the school bus that we had.  I'm so glad my mom was smart enough to save this awesome toy so my kids could play with it!

Here is a picture of Captain Fussybuckets playing with it [...]

“Mommy! I’m soooooo hungry!”

"Mommy!  I'm soooooooooooooo hungry!" is something I hear often from Captain Fussybuckets.  Most of the time, he knows exactly what we want (and we have it) or he'll choose something if I give him choices.  I need to work on my choices and expand upon what I offer him.  There are a couple of things that he'll usually always eat – turkey hot dogs (nitrate and nitrite free!), oranges, peaches, strawberries, cherries, grapes, apples, plumcots, ham and cheese or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, Annie's mac & cheese, tuna salad and crackers, any baked goods we [...]

It’s Olympics Time!

I remember watching both the Summer and Winter Olympics as a kid.  I'd get so excited and quickly learn lots about sports I didn't even know existed.  And it wasn't until this morning when I turned on the news channel and they were talking about the Olympics that I thought "oh!  This is great for my kids!"  In fact, Captain Fussybuckets got so excited about the gymnastics that he went and had to practice his front roll on his bed! [...]

Dapper Snappers for Mom! No more mooning! {review & giveaway}

    It happens to the best of us.  While we're putting the groceries into the car, while trying to keep the 1 year old from jumping ship off of the shopping cart, then while you lean over to pick up the tossed sippy cup, there are no extra hands to hold your pants up!  That's why Dapper Snappers have created Dapper Snappers for Women, the fashionable belt that prevents the annoying gap in the back of your pants and helps keep your jeans up!  Dapper [...]

The Safe Chemicals Act PASSED!

I'll be the first to admit that I am NOT involved in politics, but one thing I know is that I was happy to read this morning that the Safe Chemicals Act of 2012 passed!  What does this mean?  Well, the Safer Chemicals website states:

"For the first time in thirty-six years, Congress voted to update our out of date chemical safety laws.  In the wake of growing frustration among parents, cancer survivors and health professionals, the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee voted on Senator Frank Lautenberg's [...]

Wordless Wednesday: Food Stealer

Captain Fussybuckets has been leaving his food unattended lately, and Baby D has learned to crawl up in the chairs and eat whatever is available to him.  This is one of my favorite things to take a picture of these days, and since I recently (slow to the game) learned how to make a collage……here you go!  Pics of Baby D, the Food Stealer!

Baby D likes to steal his brother's food!

Let Service Experts Tune Up Your Air Conditioner! {review}

Since moving to this house last summer, we've had quite a few issues with our heater and air conditioner.  Once, in the coldest part of winter (for Texas, mind you,) the heater stopped working.  Then, on a warmer Spring day, the air conditioner fan stopped working.  When you're used to a certain temperature, especially while sleeping, it's rough when your heater or air conditioner goes out!

So, when we had the chance for a Service Experts employee to [...]
