"How do you feel about new people jumping into your life?" is the question of the day, brought to you by NaBloPoMo.  Well, of course I like new people in my life.  If I didn't, that would be a bit strange, no?  I love new friends, but with two little ones, it's hard to make friends sometimes.  So if these new friends are "jumping" into my life…I'm all for it!

Friends come and go, whether it's because we've moved or circumstances have changed.  New friends are like a breath of fresh air and it's good to add variety to your life, right?  As long as they're honest, trustworthy, don't curse like sailors around my children, and are fun to be around, then that's great!

Funny story and I hope my hubby doesn't mind me telling it, but he recently went to the graduation of one of our teens and he sat by this family and by the end of graduation, he and this other dad were chatting it up about music.  They're both musicians/singers and now they are friends!  How completely random is that?  I guess that should tell me that potential friends are everywhere and if you just strike up a conversation with someone, you might find out that you have more in common than you would think you did!  (but stil….trust your instincts and put up your radar for safety, of course!)

Do you like new people jumping into your life or are your content with your group of buddies?

  1. Celebrate Woman says:

I absolutely love this card! So true and sad when it comes making friends the way these two are doing it.
On a serious note, yes, friends are discovered sometimes in so subtle and unpredicted ways.
Happy that your hubby found his new musician-buddy.

  2. I'm terribly shy, but I love new people! I need other's to START the conversation; but then I can carry it on with them once it's started. And i love meeting new people and making new friends if I can get over my initial shyness. lol.

  3. Melanie Ski says:

I just moved to a new state and am thankful for the people who aren't too lazy, or stuck in their current friendship to befriend us! It takes going out on a limb but so worth it to make new friends.

  4. I've moved around alot, so I value new friends. The older I get and with kids it is definitely harder to break into already formed groups of friends.

  5. Love that card! Reminds me of the saying "We'll be best friends forever because you know too much" =0) I have anxiety so meeting new people is hard, but I love meeting new people when they approach me!

  6. I have no problem with new people but I am reluctant to include them as close friends. I have trouble trusting my current close friends.
My dad is one of those people who can strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere and keep it going. He will FIND common ground and talk and talk and talk and talk….

  7. I think it's always great to find new friends. I don't tend to trust people right off but I'm always open to friendship.
