Comfort Your Feet with Nature’s Sleep Slippers! {review & giveaway}

I am a barefoot girl, through and through.  I live in flip-flops and cannot wait to take any shoes or socks off the moment I step in the door.  I love to walk around my house barefoot.  But, we have hard floors through the house and that's just not good for my feet.  I've tried house shoes before but they're just so hot and uncomfortable.  But then….I was able to review the Open Toe Terry Slippers with Memory Foam from Nature's Sleep in Mocha.  These slippers are so comfortable!  I love how soft they are, and the memory foam makes it easy on my feet after a long day.  I really like the open-toe, too.  Silly maybe, but it makes them more comfortable in my opinion!

Captain Fussybuckets and Baby D love these slippers, too.  I would kick them off while blogging and then get up and find they had disappeared, only to then hear the scuffling of kids wearing them around the house!

These slippers come in three different colors – lavender, pale blue, and mocha, and sell for $25 on the Nature's Sleep website.  (They also sell closed toe slippers if you prefer that!)  What a perfect gift for Dad for Father's Day or anyone else who would like to "walk in the clouds" while walking around the house!  You can just tell the instant you slip them on that they're not your ordinary slippers.  They seem very durable and that they'll last for a long time, too!

Make sure to check out all of the products that Nature's Sleep has to offer.

Nature's Sleep is giving one Life With Captain Fussybuckets reader their own pair of slippers!  Just enter in the Rafflecopter form below!  Giveaway ends at 11:01 PM, central time on June 15, 2012.  Good luck!

Giveaway has ended and Karen G. is the winner!

This has been a fun challenge!  I think I'll participate in the June Photo A Day challenge, but I probably will just post them to Facebook and Twitter.  Here is the lineup if you're interested in participating!  Leave me a link to your photo a day and I'll check it out!

Visit Newport Beach this summer

This post brought to you by Newport Beach. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have never been to Newport Beach, but after visiting the Visit Newport Beach website, it's definitely somewhere I would like to go!  Newport Beach, California is a laid back beach town in SoCal that is sure to be a carefree vacation spot.

Visit Newport Beach makes it easy to plan a vacation to Newport Beach.  You will find information about the city and find the perfect hotel to make your reservations.  They have information about where to eat, what to do, and much more.  On the website, there is a "Things To Do" tab, where I found many options of activities and fun stuff to do in Newport Beach.  There are a few bicycle rental places that would be fun, and I also found a few things that the boys would love, such as whale watching and LEGOLAND California!  And of course, if we were to visit Newport Beach, we'd have to have a picnic on the beach and watch the sunset!

The Hyatt Regency Newport Beach hotel currently has a promotion for families that's great!  Buy one room at full price and receive a connecting room for kids 18 and under for 50% off.  This is a great way to save money but get all the room you need as a family.  The Hyatt Regency Newport Beach is a resort-style destination on 26 acres.  The Hyatt Regency has three pools and whirlpools, shuffleboard, ping pong, and something my husband would love, a 9-hole, par-3 golf course!  To book your room(s), call 800-233-1234 and be sure to mention the Family Plan!

Do you need more convincing to visit this fabulous place?  If so, watch this video to learn more about Newport Beach:

Don't forget to check out the kids summer camps, too!  There are preschool day camps, water camps, sports camps, tons of different camps to choose from.  You can find all the info you need at Newport Beach!

So are you convinced?  Why would this be a great place to visit?  Have any of you been to Newport Beach?

Photo A Day May 30 – “Your Personality” #photoadaymay

This was definitely the hardest "Photo A Day" assignments!  My personality?  How am I supposed to define that with a picture?  So, I found this old picture, when I was three or four.  I love this picture and I think it describes my personality well, or at least part of it.  In this picture, I'm deep in thought and quiet.  Or possibly I'm about to blow a kiss to my dad who is taking the picture?  Who knows?  But I'd like to think I'm a quiet thinker, but I also can be loud and obnoxious, so watch out.  Split personality, perhaps?  ha ha!

Wordless Wednesday: Water Fun

Three Wiggles Are Retiring!

The famous Australian kids' band, The Wiggles, just announced that three of the founding members, Jeff, Murray, and Greg, are passing down the torch to some NEW Wiggles!  The Wiggles announced on their website that while Anthony will be staying put as the Blue Wiggle, there will be a new Purple, Red, and Yellow Wiggle after the end of the year and the end of their Celebration World Tour!  (Check out the website for a show near you!)

The new Wiggles were chosen by the outgoing Wiggles and have been dancing and singing alongside the Wiggles already…  Lachlan, Simon, and Emma…yes…a girl Wiggle!!  While it will be sad to see the original Wiggles (minus Anthony) go, I'm excited to see some fresh faces in Wiggle Land!!

Captain Fussybuckets and Baby D really love the awesome music and dancing of the Wiggles!  There were days when the Captain was younger when the "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" was constantly on.  In fact, we had to buy a new DVD when the original was lost!  The Wiggles have provided lots of joy to the boys and we are very thankful to the Wiggles for this!  I can't believe they've been performing for TWENTY-ONE years!  Who knew?  But I'm glad the Wiggles will live on in the new generation!  Yay, Wiggles!

Zaycon Foods Bring You Fresh, Quality Foods for Less!

Our family had the opportunity to review an awesome company, Zaycon Foods.  Zaycon uses the buying power of many families to negotiatie huge savings on food purchases.  They provide fresh from the farm/processor foods and sell it by the case in a super organized sales event.  I participated in the Zaycon chicken breasts event and luckily, there was going to be a delivery near where I live.  All you have to do is sign up for the Zaycon newsletter and they will send you an email when any event is in your area.  If you want to buy, you log on to the Zaycon Foods website, purchase your items, and then mark your calendar for the pick-up date.  They usually designate an hour on a certain day that you can pick up your food and here's why:  The fresh food comes in a refrigerated truck (or at least it does for meat products) and all you do is drive up to the nice delivery person, state your name, and they load the food into your car FOR YOU.  When I picked up my chicken, I had both boys in the van and the nice guy opened up the back, put down plastic in case of leakage (genius!) and loaded the 40 lbs. box of chicken into my car for me.  The whole process was less than 2 minutes!

When we got home, I opened up the box of chicken:

It was about four, sealed bags of chicken inside another sealed bag to prevent leaks.  I separated it all into plastic freezer bags, maybe 4-6 breasts in each bag.  I made a LOT of these bags:

FORTY pounds of chicken!  And do you know how much it was selling for at the Zaycon event?  $71.60!!!!!  That is $1.79 a pound for fresh, never frozen, delicious, 100% chicken with no added hormones, additives, or artificial ingredients!

We have eaten this chicken a few times, in chicken quesadillas and chicken salads and it is fabulous!  We all love it!

Zaycon Foods have many yummy foods to offer besides chicken, such as ham, lean ground beef, bacon, cod, salmon, honey, turkey, fruit, and much more, depending on the season!  Visit Zaycon today and sign up for their informative e-mail, to be alerted when they have an event in your area!  Also, be sure to follow Zaycon on Twitter and Facebook.
