We were able to review the children's book: "Howard B. Wigglebottom Learns Too Much of a Good Thing is Bad" at THE perfect time. The book came in the mail on Halloween! It was also the day before the Captain's 3rd birthday, so we read that book and made sure that the Captain was listening!
In the book, it is Howard the bunny's birthday. He gets lots of special treats for his birthday and takes advantage of every single opportunity! He gets sick from eating too much brownie sundae for breakfast and it just continues on throughout the book. In the end, Howard decides to take only one piece of birthday cake because of the day he has had and learns that, yes, too much of a good thing is BAD!
The author is Howard Binkow and he definitely knows how to write a good children's book! This book was definitely understandable by the Captain. We reminded him throughout the day about Howard and how he got a tummy ache from eating too much sweet stuff and he remembered and thought about his eating choices! This book would work well for any child, ages 2-upper elementary! We loved this book and definitely give it our stamp of approval!
There are many other Howard B. Wigglebottom books that teach a lesson and I cannot wait to read them to the Captain! Check out wedolisten.org for information on the books, coloring pages, songs, games, lessons, posters, and a huge section on dealing with bullying! Each book has online resources such as posters, lessons, and reflections. This is really great stuff and I'm proud to support the cause on my blog!
You can purchase the Howard B. Wigglebottom books at wedolisten.org/shop. Each of the books are currently marked down to $7.50 or you can buy all nine for $65! They're also available on Amazon.com!
